Wrinkle-relaxing injections contain a purified protein that is administered directly into the muscle. This allows the muscle to temporarily relax which can help to soften facial expressions, and can improve the signs of ageing by smoothing the skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, this treatment can also help to prevent further wrinkles from developing, preserving a more youthful look. Wrinkles such as: crow’s feet, forehead lines, frown lines and nose-to-mouth lines (nasolabial folds) are addressed using this treatment. What can I expect on the day of treatment?: Before booking a wrinkle-relaxing treatment, a consultation with one of our team will discuss your desired results and how this can be achieved. On the day of treatment, our specialist will confirm the details of the procedure and mark on the face where injections are to be administered. A small needle is used and steps are taken to minimise any potential discomfort. Following the explanation of any aftercare, you are free to continue with your day.
What are the side effects or risks?: Adverse side effects from this treatment are uncommon. However, patients can expect to experience small bumps or bruises on the skin, redness and some slight sensitivity following treatment.
When will I see results?: During the first 24 – 48 hours you are likely to be experiencing some mild side effects, and you will need to avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting and touching / applying pressure to the treated area. When any swelling has subsided, the results will start to become visible – usually within 3-5 days.
How should I prepare for treatment?: Avoid aspirin or other blood-thinning medications prior to your treatment as this limits the risk of minor bruising.
