At Square Mile Dental Centre, we know that a dental emergency can cause all sorts of pain and worry for our patients, which is why we offer emergency treatment. Swollen gums can be caused by a number of things including gum disease or an abscess. Poor nutrition and lifestyle choices, such as alcohol and tobacco can also cause swelling in the gums, while the hormonal changes that happen during pregnancy can result in swelling in the gums too.
At an appointment, we’ll be able to determine what is the cause of your swelling and offer further treatment. We’ll also do everything we can to reduce the swelling and eliminate any pain you’re in at the time. We may not be able to provide you with all the treatment needed during an emergency appointment, but if that’s the case we’ll be sure to outline your follow-up treatment and make sure you receive the care you need as soon as possible.
